A local and national organization dedicated to community service.

The Thurmont Historical Society
A not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to gather, catalog,
preserve and display artifacts of Thurmont History.

Served as Board of Directors Member.

Thurmont Economic Development Committee
A joint effort by local businesses and residents to encourage and retain local business,
 and strengthen our sense of community spirit..

Helped Establish and Organize the Thurmont Business Expo.
Assist in all Events and Programs Sponsored by the EDC.

Thurmont First Main Street, Inc.
A partnership of local business owners, residents, Town of Thurmont, State of Maryland and the National Historic Trust to preserve and enhance Thurmont’s core business district.
Helped Organize and Establish Thurmont’s Main Street Program.
Helped Establish Christmas in Thurmont Program.
Helped establish the THurmotn BUsiness Expo
Served as Vice Chairman.
Created, fund and maintain the web site.
Created and maintain the many photo albums showing Thurmont events and activities.
Established the Thurmont Online Business Directory.
Certified Tourism Ambasador.
Currently Serving as Chairman.

The Blue Ridge Cemetery Association
A not-for-profit cemetery providing affordable and well maintained
community burial plots since 1924
Encouraged the purchase of additional property for future expansion.
Currently serving as President.

The Robert S. Kinnaird Collection of Historic Thurmont Photographs
An online collection of historic images of Thurmont and the surrounding areas
I created and maintain the site in honor of the memory of my father Robert S. Kinnaird
as a thank you to the residents of Thurmont for their warm and welcoming
acceptance of our family into this amazing community.
